Frozen In Time

You've seen those ultra slowmo videos of someone shooting a bullet threw an apple or something being dropped in water and how cool they look, well on derezzing the MRU (Mobile Research Unit) we were able to get a snapshot of it delinking in full flow and what an incredible sight it is too.

Story Time!

<datadump>
Snapper took an hour out of his busy schedule to tell 2 Pokémon and a Hologram a story
I hear there was pie at the end though...

One Year Today Dustin

We all like a landmark and Dustin Thunderstorm (Dustin Sunflower) reached a significant one today as he celebrated 1 year in Second Life and for his rezz day a surprise party was thrown on top of the MRU over the sandbox. The Party was later transferred to sovereign sim against the backdrop of the lake and pine trees. GFC friends and members gathered to wish him a happy rezz day and party the day away. The FADM Katrina Bixby laid a cake and party decorations to help the proceedings along. In a few weeks time we'll be celebrating his first year as a member of the GFC,

In the time he has been here he's ran is own rp, was an XO of another, is assistant lead of tactical, can be found regularly helping out security and testing new products for research. He was awarded a medal at the last Bi-Annual for his work for the group and in his short time here has already established himself as one of the most recognized members in the fleet.

So, happy Rezz Day Dustin and we look forward to another year of you in second life.

Gun Fun

<datadump>
Hellwos all, Richardjrn here to tell you about some gun rated fun...

Me and Sophie Johnson (hydregion) were floating around in the MRU's Pool, yes we have a pool... see here
When suddenly Sophie had the urge to fire off some weapons so we went to the WSB (Weapons SandBox) and ended up getting a bit carried away..
.

But then i changed to a different gun, and well lets just say i cubed the place

We was having a whale of a time hehe

But Sophie got her own back with Nerf guns

I even got one out and was shooting at her, but even upclose i missed

But she got me in the end

It was then the Oreo Cookie crumbled....

The poor MRU

I dread to think what these people was thinking

"I could really go for a cookie right now...."

After the Oreo carnage cleared we decided that it was a draw (gladly cause i knew she would of won :S)
So we posed together for a "Yes we caused the carnage" shot

We had alot of fun and i hope we can do it again but with more people... that will be interesting....

Anyway until next time!

Don't worry we're not asleep

Dear friends,

It has occurred to us that no one has posted in the last 48 hours to keep you up to date in the happenings of our humble fleet. Don't worry, we haven't all been annihilated in a Borg attack, nor have we got lost in the gravametric pull of some distant blackhole in the quadrant. Truth is my friends, we decided to have a little rest following the significant achievement of our exercise. Just a small breather, in fact this is a little postcard to show what we have been up to.

Our resident holographic research program Lt. Richardjrn Weatherwax, has converted the top of the Mobile Research Unit (actual name is much more complicated so I am abbreviating it) into a swimming pool, that's right a swimming pool!

A number of us spent 4 hours partying there yesterday (sorry no pics we were enjoying it too much), and some of us have decided to continue the exercise for a time today.

Richardjrn, Debbydo, Kal and Dave relax by the pool (looks like Dave is on the pop!)

Much of a muchness, the fleet has continued it's usual operations with more news to follow. And we haven't neglected you, we have been tweaking one or two minor things with the blog.

In your service,

Lt. Cmdr. Dave Fearguis

Moblie Research Unit

Today, GFC was really busy!

Dustin Sunflower, Debbydo, Richardjrn Weatherwax, Thomas Aker, Valkyla, snapper Desade and Jimmy Vehrous.

You may look at these pictures above and think, those officers there are not doing much!
But do we always have to be doing things to be an active member of GFC?
I can tell you that many new ideas have been thought of and made real in this MRU.
(Mobile Research Unit)
There has even been sightings of another similar building - Mobile Library Unit.
Just because someone is standing around doesn't mean they aren't working on something.
Though it is sometimes nice to just go to the Sandbox and show that you are alive.
I personally have been working for GFC out side of the Viewer lately.
But I still often pop my head in and say Hi!
It is rather diifficult to keep up with new things in GFC,
We at the Blog try to keep you updated!
Check back often for new and exciting articles.

Google Plus Testing Starts

Who say's we're not a resourceful bunch here at the GFC, we were able to snag some early invites to Google + limited beta test, courtesy of an old GFC friend Whitey Goodfellow.

Google + is Google's answer to social networking. The research team has been playing with Google's newest toy to see if there's any possible application for use in the GFC, a longer report will follow, but for now, we're off to find more people to drop in our circle, getting into a IM huddle and hangout in a 10 person video conference.....Ok maybe not the video conference but we'll let you know if Google + is a hit or miss and why when we review its pluses and minuses in a later report.

Up in the sky...

So, I was exploring the new Constellation sim. It's a nice place, with lots of room for shops and so on. Of course, the big tower peaked my curiosity. I quickly beamed in, only to see it was just a conference room. Bummer.

As I looked outside though, looking at the other marketplace in GFC - Infinity Station - I noticed something strange...

Something strange...

Infinity Station, as you all know, is circular. It's also known as the 'big donut', because of the hole in the middle. But then, what was that object stuck in the middle of infinity station? I decided to beam to Infinity Station itself to find out!

Beaming...

When I arrived, I didn't have much time to look around, since I immediately got beamed away again, onto... the MRU! That's right, Research's Mobile Research Unit. That was what was in the middle of the big donu... uh, Infinity Station! I stumbled upon a brainstorming meeting, where they discussed purring fish, gridwide systems and time differences.

MRU...

And if that wasn't enough... I also applied for Research. Not that I understand all that technical stuff... but I've got nice ideas, and I just *had* to get me one of those labcoats! So watch out GFC, Captain RoBobby McMillan is now part of Research. That's right, it's time to unleash my crazy ideas on all of you! Muahahaha!

Labcoat... watch out!
