A Scifi Christmas!

On the lookout for Christmas cheer as I travel the cyber-spacelanes of Second Life, I spot a cozy, warm winter chalet nestled beneath the shoulders of snowy mountains.

Outside is a friendly snowman, who directs me inside and bids me look under the Christmas tree. Everything is gaily decorated, the Christmas feast is on the table, and the stocking are hung by the chimney with care.

And Santa had been here!

There is a wonderful present for each day of the month of December so far, with the best surely still to come in the last days leading up to Christmas Eve itself.

All this good cheer is in support of the 9th Annual Second Life Science Fiction Convention, so a million thanks go to the good people that make that happen, as well as to those that allowed us the use of their sim for the giant Con map and our little Christmas scene this year.

Free Easter Gift Hover Car Revealed

For those people who attended this weeks General Meeting all the way  to the end witnessed the rezzing of a giant easter egg   in the middle of the room.  Upon clicking the egg you were given a snazzy fun Sci-Fi hover car from one of  GFC's builders Richmerk Resident courtesy of Social Events.

I love gifts like the next man especially when they are free and drivable. I wasted no time taking the hover car out for a spin around the sims, it drove extremely smoothly and it was an absolute blast jetting around in it. Congratulations for all those who attended the General Meeting this week and got a copy, we hope they have fun in it.

Free Gift at next GM

It seems that something as afoot or should we say apaw as the GFC has gone all easterly. Not only do we have an ongoing Egg hunt but now the GM room has been decorated with balloons and bunnies to get into the festive  feel of the celebration.

Social Events put out a message this week which read

"Everyone that attends the GM this Saturday will get a special gift from the Easter Bunny!

GM's are held at 3:00pm SLT on Saturdays in the Roddenberry Centre."

Xmas at the sovereign lodge

Over the Christmas period many spend time in Sovereigns winter lodge where they chatted over dinner, picking up the daily free gifts and generally relaxing around the warm fire place.

There was a skype room set up for live voice chatting throughout christmas eve and day to celebrate Yuletide  which many joined into including fleet admiral bixby.

We'd like to thank social events for making it a great place to hangout over the Christmas period.

Free Xmas gifts second week

For the last week in the GFC  free gifts have been given away at the winter wonder land lodge on the grounds of sovereign.

Every day a new gift has been place under the christmas tree and will continue up until xmas day. Only so many presents will be under the tree at anyone time, each prize will be removed after a couple of days so remember to come down regularly to pick up your free goody while its still under there.

The gifts which have been given away so far are as followed.

1. Christmas hat and scarf.

2. Gestures + Wear & Run rainbow.

3. Cardy Rysta Class Freighter (ship)

4. Snow Gun (TOS style rifle)

GFC free Gift given away every day upto Xmas

Christmas is a season for giving, and GalaxyFleetCommand is giving away presents!

Come visit the GFC Winter Wonderland, find the Christmas tree inside the big lodge, and pick up your gift. We'll try to have something different every day until Christmas. Don't like what you got today? Come back tomorrow! Then stay a while, enjoy the setting, relax by the fire, pet the reindeer, build a snowman, dance with a loved one.

Remember older presents will be removed every few days, so get them when they are available or you'll miss out.
