USS Pegasus RP - Episode 4: “Investigations”

Galaxy Class Starship, NCC-78910-A
Acting CO: Commander Sophie Johnson's Log

After receiving orders from Starfleet Command, the Pegasus warped to Starbase 73 where Captain Visage had a meeting with Temporal Investigations because of the time-incident from three days ago. Leaving Commander Johnson in command, the Captain disembarked -- heading back to the Bridge, Johnson who still has the last order from the Captain fresh in her mind; steps out the turbolift.

Taking her place in the center chair, Johnson orders a course to the Cebalrai system - on the outskirts of Bajoran occupied space. From there, Ensign Auxifur created an interface with the Lintorn Array. After a few minutes of searching through space, Auxifur found a grouping of five warbirds in the Belarus system; more specifically around the third planet. After recording the power signature from the last encounter with a Stargate, he also found a fading signature from a Gate on the same planet. Johnson realized the importance of not allowing foreign technology to fall into enemy hands and told Marvoleth to set a course.

On route, Johnson had the ship prepared for battle. In anticipation that the Romulans will not give up their position, Lieutenant Humbridge programmed a possible attack pattern and potential target points to quickly disable any warbird; should it attack. On the other hand, Johnson prepared for a diplomatic resolve. She informed the crew that she will attempt to resolve the matter without a fight but should the Romulans force her hand, the ship will engage them. Johnson stepped into the Ready Room and argued with Starfleet Command. As she argued, her voice became louder and louder.

“I don’t care about the Romulan Government’s excuse. They’ve got five Warbirds in the Zone right now and we’re gonna find out why.” Johnson shouted to the Admiral on Earth. Minutes later, Rich called Johnson to the Bridge as the ship dropped from Warp. Humbridge charged the weapons and raised the shields. He was ready, as was the entire crew...but Johnson stood up and had Rich open a channel.

After ten minutes of arguing and distrust, the Romulan Commander “Rotaro” finally agreed to leave the system. With the ship maintaining Red Alert until the Romulans had left - Johnson asked Auxifur to keep a sensor lock on the Romulan attack-force. Curiously, Johnson wanted to know why the Romulans were so interested in one damaged Stargate. While the away team gathered their equipment, the Stargate disappeared from sensors.

Materialising on the planet below - Johnson had Edward scan for the faint quantum signature from the Gate in an attempt to locate the Romulan landing site. Closing in on the already-faint signature, the crew found nothing but a ‘footprint’ left by the missing Stargate in the ground from where it would have stood. Also, Edward noted that there was a Federation weapons signature but with a variation in the frequency of a standard signature. Auxifur commented that it is similar to that of the Maquis. After taking as many scans as possible and as needed, the crew returned to the ship and made a return trip to Starbase 73 to pick up the Captain.

USS Pegasus - Episode2 "Mysterious Planet"

In last weeks episode of USS Pegasus - Our crew and ship were left limping back to Earth Space dock after saving Vulcan from being destroyed by a stray Asteroid. Instead of heading back to earth they were told to detour to Utopia Planitia Where an updated Pegasus A was awaiting them. The crew didn't have much time to familiarize themselves with the new ship before orders over subspace requested them to ship out to the corners of the Alpha Quadrant as there was intelligence of a  new planet being discovered and starfleet wanted to get someone down there ASAP.

To their surprise when they arrived in synchronous orbit there was a Romulan warbird already waiting "how long had they been their the captain muttered". When trying to hail the ship no answer was received but they seemed to be firing up something on the ship, the Pegasus crew didn't wait for any more signs and proceeded in targeting their weapon systems, knocking them offline.

The Romulans reacted by turning tail and warping out of the system. Once the area was scanned and cleared of any other device and ships they beamed down to the planet below. What they found was an ancient area with a large stargate placed at its entrance. The team looked around and made records of anything they could find but felt the stargate had to be destroyed because an unmonitored gate in the hands of the romulans wouldn't bode well for the for the allience.

The captain requested a precision strike on the stargate, destroying it before returning to the ship with the away team.

USS Pegasus Pilot Flight

Its always good when a new RP arrives and PO1 Silver Visage has put a fledgling crew together to premiere a new roleplay. The maiden RP of the USS Pegasus differs slightly to the RP we are more accustomed to, instead of just having a basic premise and free form RPing, he's elected for a complete story line with beginning middle and end. So your aware of the expected outcome.
Now you would think that would be very limiting but in reality it worked quite well because the player knew exactly what path in the story they needed to follow and they had freedom to find interesting ways to achieve those goals. A system like this I would imagine would work well for members who aren't as comfortable free forming where they may be scared of saying something wrong or inadvertently steering the story off in another direction.

In the first episode of this RP the Constitution class starship the USS Pegasus leaves Earth space dock on a mission to explore a newly discovered world but they get a distress signal early into their flight from the vulcan homeworld, it transpires a mining accident on an asteroid in orbit above their world has now been blown off course and the huge chunk of rock is hurtling toward the planet below.
The Pegasus elects to come to the Vulcans aid. An asteroid that large made up of that amount of dilithium  would have even more dramatic effects when smashing into the planet, the devastation would be horrific.  The only option was to break the asteroid up into small pieces before it entered the atmosphere.

Though the crew were successful in saving vulcan from an unimaginable fate it took its toll on the ship and engineering reported various blown out systems which needed immediate replacements, but its was would take at least 2 days to get back to space dock at  warp 5 which would be the safest speed travel without shields failing and the ship being teared apart.
To find out if they made it back to Earth Dock you'd have to tune in to the next episode of the USS Pegasus.
