New GFC Rifle and Tactical Retooling

After a surprise attack from the Marquis the tactical area in the GFC was damaged, staff injured and pride blown to shreds. But, as the saying goes, when the "When the going gets touch the tough get going", tactical stood back up, dusted it self off and prepared for a new era of defense of the GFC, never will it get caught out again.

The first thing which had to be done was retooling, fortifying and turning our tactical troops into defenders of the realm. A Nav Mesh has been added to the tactical area floor so now pathfinding compatible devices like drones can work in that area, this should aid in the training of the squads.

The new standard JCS rifle and meter system has just being fully introduce allowing for firing without the need of rezzed bullets and more accuracy than previous guns used in the group. By using the JCS system the gun now can shoot down the likes of ships like the gryphon and those which also have compatible JCS modes. Bring land to air features in devices we can create ourselves.

Members can pick up copies of the new JCS rifle in Constellation sims Medical Centre or Phoenix Stations Welcome Area and AAC  briefing room and  in Sovereign sim, just wear your GalaxyFleetCommand group tag and click the vendor, accept the item and check in your recent items for a directory with the rifle and JCS meter in it. You wear the Tactical tag to pick it up from tactical building.

Temp attach versions are also available outside the tactical building and the AAC Briefing room. You simply click the temp vendor and accept the item being attached, you will then automatic be wear the item without need for searching in your inventory for it or constantly looking for it if you own it. Its a fast way of picking up items when you need them. Temp attached items are never stored in your inventory so when you detach it they are gone.

This is only the beginning, so watch and listen out for laser fire, explosions and calls of "Man down" & "Medic".

Hapless Dummies Take on Tactical

It has been said in whispered tones that the Tactical Division members are a hard nosed sort, they are the kind of people who line dummies up against walls and shoot them for target practice. This is what happened recently when an  impromptu shoot the stationary object events was called.

Many people turned up with a variety of lethal weapons to practice their aiming arm with, it wasn't all attacking stationary items though, a moving orb was thrown in the mix to create a travelling target giving the dummies a bit of rest bite.
By the time the event ended there were bits of dummy and explosive debris shattered around the tactical area, so if you hear huge explosions, see mushroom clouds or bits of dummy flying over the tactical area wall then it probably is only our crack team and guests letting off a little steam and bullets.

Tactical - Drone Tests, Kingon Invasion and Light Armour

Tactical has been really busy over the last few weeks since its relaunch and has been going from strength to strength. This week has been particularly busy.

On Saturday's Tactical event  they were testing new fighting drones and a colour ball shooting game, the scripter Perfecto Convair (now also one of the newest members of the division) is an old member who has been away from the GFC for about 4 years and has returned to projects he was working on and aren't we glad he has, the games are challenging and fun, they will make a real addition to many of the tactical event which are planned in the future. Also he's working on a few games aimed at DS19 which we are all looking forward to playing soon.

Sunday saw tactical reassemble to defend the planet from a klingon invasion in a derelict war torn city using every guerrilla fighting tactic's at their disposal to defeat the scurge and barbarism of their foe. Will the federations remain victorious and honorable in the face of their enemy or can the fragil alliance prevail. Read Full Story HERE.

Light tactical armour with force field has been developed for all tactical members. The armor is made by their new chief tactical engineer Harry Ketterley (andy Ketterley). Read Full Story HERE.

Tactical with Klingons

In the absense of K'lara the klingon ambassador to the GFC, another member of their group visited Galaxyfleet on a diplomatic mission, Myself, ..::K::.. and captain snapper Desade welcomed Toq on his first visit to our territory, he was accompanied by frequent visitor batlhtlhutlh and after a tour of our holodecks Bird of Prey, the Klingons were shown our tactical area.

Our allies don't have to be asked twice to pull out a weapons and give those drones a lesson only a Klingon could give. Toq showed astonishing acrobatics skills for a Klingon, ..::K::.. not not being left out showed that starfleet officers knew a thing or two about battling with drones, though she eventually lost the battle against the hoard of metal as they cut her down in a hail of lazer fire.

I feel we are going to see a lot more of our Klingon allies over the next few weeks, so if you see one, remember to make yourself known with a "nuqneH", though approach with caution.
