Remembrance day 2013

For the last few years the GFC in some form or other has paid its respects to those who fought in world wars and conflicts, with every year being a little bit more elaborate than the last. This year continued in that vain by placing a recreation of the london Cenotaph on the ground in sovereign. On Sunday 10th November at 11am SLT members stood at the monument and engaged in 2 minute silence.

A firework display followed which lit up the area with a colourful array of pyrotechnics which are always better viewed when you have your setting switched to night time. Once the display was over the GFC's flying division (Academy Aircorps) performed a few fly passes over the monument. A battle ship had been rezzed and  one of the AAC pilots took the opportunity to land it on the carriers landing deck.

For the rest of the evening members were able to dance in a small area provided to see out the event in style.
